CHELENKO DESTINATION
To the south of the Austral highway, in the Aysén Region, is the Chelenco Zone, located around the most the country's largest lake, General Carrera Lake, shared with Argentina and formerly known as Chelenco by the indigenous Tehuelches.
This zone keeps perhaps one of the greatest attractions in southern Chile and many of them unknown. On the one hand it They find the main archaeological sites of the Region, especially cave paintings that date back more than eight thousand years. Its imposing nature counts with landmarks as important as the General Carrera Lake and its marble cathedrals, the Laguna San Rafael National Park with its dozens of glaciers (Northern Ice Field), the Cerro Castillo National Reserve and its trekking trails, or the areas that waste good vegetables and fruits, such as Chile Chico and Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez, thanks to the microclimate generated by the great Lake Chelenco. Further south, the possibility of reaching such fascinating towns as Caleta Tortel, known for its wooden walkways.
Itinerary



Day 1: SANTIAGO - BALMACEDA - PUERTO TRANQUILO
Departure from Santiago, in flight to Balmaceda airport in the Aysén region. Pick up and transfer to the town of Puerto Tranquilo. Presentation of the program and night at the hotel.



Day 2: THE WATERFALL ROUTE
The Route of the Waterfalls is a fabulous excursion that seeks to enter a little terrain known and fascinating. The forests of the area give coverage until it comes through paths to fabulous waterfalls, which comes from the ice fields. the day includes a picnic lunch and possibility to go to some natural hot springs.



Day 3: FULL DAY LAGUNA SAN RAFAEL
Full day excursion where departing to first morning time, you arrive to the Bahía Exploradores dock, where A smooth navigation begins through the final section and delta of the Exploradores River, until reaching the Laguna San Rafael NP. Disembark and walk interpretive of the place. Finally we visit the ruins of the old Hotel Elqui.






Day 4: BOSQUE BOSQUE AND CATALINA BAY
Enter a lush forest and disconnect from what surrounds us, Guided by an expert in disconnection activities, to feel a unique nature. Lunch in a farmhouse, visit to their farmhouse and get together with the owners of the place, to know first-hand a unique experience.



Day 5: FULL DAY CALETA TORTEL
Caleta Tortel is a coastal town located between the mouth of the Baker River, the largest river in Chile, and is mainly made up of stilt houses, typical of Chilotan architecture, built along the coast for several kilometers. There are no streets, instead there are wooden walkways that they build with Ciprés de las Guaitecas and that they give the town its distinctive look and unique culture.



Day 6: PUERTO GUADAL
Free day where to choose visit the population of Puerto Guadal, your local business and its surroundings or carry out an activity such as horseback riding, sightseeing magnifying glass or follow the trail of archaeological sites of proximity.



Day 7: PUERTO GUADAL -BALMACEDA -SANTIAGO
Pick up at the hotel early to leave in address to Balmaceda airport, where you will take a flight with Return to Santiago.
